"I had the enjoyment of watching “You Must Be This Tall” last evening with my parents, my daughter, her fiancée, his brother, sister and mother, and my husband. The show was absolutely fantastic. Before the show, we had gone to dinner and my parents told us the story of how they met 55 years ago and had their first “blind” date at the Palladium Ball Room at Rocky Point. My dad sat next to me in the theater and often grabbed my hand, or if I took a look at him you could see emotions of all kinds running through him. My mom sat next to my daughter and after the show my daughter told me how often Mom would make comments, “oh I remember that” or “wow, I can’t believe it’s gone”. The story of how they met is a funny one, my dad ending up on a blind date that he didn’t even know was a date, and they have been married now for 54 years, had 6 children, and now have 20 grandchildren. All of us have spent time at Rocky Point, except the youngest of the grandchildren who were born after the park closed. My mom called me on her way back home to Willimantic Ct after see the show in Woonsocket, to thank my daughter for thinking of going to the opening, telling us what a great time they had, and reminding us that AS SOON as the DVD comes out she wants a copy.
My husband bought them each a Rocky Point T-Shirt last night at the show, a remembrance of great times, and the beginning of a 50+ year romance. Thank you for putting together a movie that brought us all back to happy memories."

"I really did not get a chance to express how much I truly enjoyed "You Must Be This Tall".Your movie took me back to ten of the best years of my life,I could almost smell the clamcakes and chowder and remember the laughs and shreiks of the people who rode the different rides I operated during those years.Rocky Point Park will always have a very special place in my heart and memories.Thank you again for making this movie and for your and the other people who were involved with the making of "You Must Be This Tall" friendship and the love for Rocky Point Park we all shared."

Even taking a purely traditional approach, mothers need education more than do fathers, because a child's life, his education, begins at his mother's breast.
