A few things to report:
1. A special shout-out and thank you to the kids and teachers at Gorton Junior High in Warwick, who invited me to their school this morning for a special screening and discussion. I will wear my Gorton Raiders t-shirt proudly.
2. National Amusements, owners of the Showcase Warwick, have given us yet another weekend at their cinema. The film will be playing at least through next Thursday...with six shows a day over the weekend. Check it out!
3. You'll get a chance to buy t-shirts and ask questions after the film this weekend at the Narragansett Theater (in the Pier, near the Town Beach)...with six shows: 1:00, 4:00 and 7:00 both Saturday and Sunday. I used to work there, so it should be good times.
4. I don't have any specific information yet, but You Must Be This Tall has been accepted to the Northampton Independent Film Festival, November 2nd and 3rd. More details to follow.
See you at the movies!

Saw the movie last weekend with my family. Great job folks, great job. It's the first time I've been to a movie in a long time when people didn't start hopping out of their seats to race from the theater as soon as the lights went up. Nobody moved...they stayed to watch those final images and the
credits. When the last scrolled from the screen I heard a woman say..."awh well, I thought there might be one last pic at the end." Half a dozen people besides me overheard her and we all turned and nodded in agreement. We just didn't want to deal with the fact that our trip down memory lane was over. As I exited the theater, I said to my youngest daughter (ll years old)..."Well, in at least some small way, I finally got to take you to Rocky Point." She's the only member of my family that doesn't remember the park because it was closed by the time she was born.
So thanks for giving me that opportunity to share Rocky Point with her. It meant more than I think you'd ever guess.
